The 2014 edition of the JIMS saw Chevrolet showcase the highly impressive Camaro muscle car, and we hoped that it was an indication of Chevy bringing these to our shores soon.

Whilst Chevrolet’s plans on this are still undetermined, Ford has taken a very progressive step to satisfying the South African car market’s need for pure American muscle, by confirming the introduction of the epitome of this breed of cars to South Africa.

The “reimagined” Ford Mustang – the world’s favorite pony car has been completely redesigned and reengineered featuring a sleek design retaining classic Mustang elements that form part of its half-century heritage. April 17, 2014, marks the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the original Ford Mustang.

Key design features that define the new Ford Mustang include a low roof height and wide stance, sleek profile enabled by steeply sloped windshield and rear glass, three-dimensional, tri-bar tail-lamps, contemporary execution of the iconic car’s signature shark-bite front fascia.

At first glance, you immediately see a Mustang strong and true. Packed with exceptional performance, refinement and features a significant number of innovative technologies including Ford SYNC™ with Voice Control and Touchscreen.
